Frequently Asked Questions

  • Neurodivergent is an umbrella term for people whose minds or functioning diverge from the societal ideas of "normal". Examples include Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyspraxia, epilepsy (and many more!)

    My practice is underscored by the neurodiversity paradigm, which opposes biomedical models and maintains that neurodivergence should be respected, understood, and supported.

  • Absolutely! While my practice is queer and neurodivergent affirming, I enjoy working with people from all backgrounds and lived experiences.

  • Not at all! I don’t currently work under the Medicare model. I bill privately or to NDIS if you are self-managed or plan-managed.

  • I currently work with children [8+], young people and adults. I tailor my approach to suit your needs and working style.

  • Absolutely!

    Typically, doctors and other health professionals will generalise and tell you to speak to a psychologist. However, there are many professionals who can provide therapy and support including social workers, counsellors, occupational therapists, and mental health nurses.

    A majority of the success in therapy is based on building a good relationship with your worker. I hope to be able to provide a safe, supportive, and respectful service so that we can do good work together.

    If I believe another mental health professional would be a better fit, I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

    I'm also more than happy to work alongside other health professionals in your team (I love collaboration and know that working together gets the best outcomes for you) 😊

  • I totally understand the reasons for cancellations and have no judgement towards you. In a perfect world (that isn’t this capitalist hellscape society where the cost of living is eating everyone alive) I’d say that there’s no cancellation policy. However, the reality is that I also need to eat and hope that you can give me as much notice as possible.

    I understand that last-minute situations happen, and I'll try to be as lenient as possible. I think that a fair policy is:

    • If you cancel and give 2 business days’ notice, there’s no fee;

    • If you cancel without giving 2 business days’ notice, there’s no fee the first time;

    • If you cancel again, you will be charged the full fee for your session.
